Accessibility statement for VeraLinear

VeraLinear wants to make foreign-language content more accessible to as many people as possible. That also includes designing our website, web app and browser extension to be as understandable, robust and usable as possible.
Our aspiration
We endeavour to provide VeraLinear with clear structures, understandable operation, sufficient contrast and modern technical implementation. We understand accessibility as an ongoing process, not as a task completed once and for all.
New features, in particular the browser extension, iSpicker, interlinear views, Studio views and curation tools, are developed further step by step and tested for usability.
Measures already taken
- structured pages with headings, paragraphs and clear sections;
- labels for buttons, inputs and settings that are as understandable as possible;
- usable account, login and settings areas with modern browsers;
- contrast-conscious design of the website, app and extension;
- adjustable display options in the extension;
- feedback channels for problems, barriers and specific website cases.
Particular requirements of VeraLinear
VeraLinear works closely with visual proximity to the text: original text, interlinear line, iSpicker, word groups, sentence context, highlights and popups are displayed directly on the text being read. This presentation is important for the learning method, but it can be challenging for certain assistive technologies or very unusual website structures.
For this reason, not every feature can work identically on every website, in every browser, at every zoom level, in every screen reader context or in every individual configuration. We try to provide sensible alternatives, settings and robust ways of operating without losing the product's core function.
Browser extension
The extension runs inside third-party websites. Accessibility therefore also depends on the website in question, its HTML structure, advertising, overlays, paywalls, embedded comment systems and browser security rules.
If VeraLinear is not easy to use on a particular page, specific details are especially helpful: URL, browser, language, the feature affected and a brief description of the problem.
Current status
VeraLinear is under active development. Individual areas may not yet be fully accessible or may change as new features are added.
This statement is a voluntary self-description of our current aspiration and not an assurance of full accessibility of all features. We take feedback seriously and prioritise improvements where they have the greatest practical benefit.
